We've got a lot of stuff going on on the technical side of SeersIRC, as you may have noticed with our services upgrade recently. We're in the process of upgrading our IRCd (IRC server) software as well. Inevitably this will result in downtime for each server that is upgraded, but if you use irc.seersirc.net to connect you shouldn't be affected.

In order to upgrade the IRCd's, the server needs to be taken offline for a short period of time. We're updating going to bring UnrealIRCd up to the latest version: 3.2.8. Our current plan is to upgrade Guardian and Spirit from 9am CDT on March 31st. This will be a very quick upgrade, however the second part of it will be on April 1st, again at 9am CDT. There could be up to an hour downtime unfortunately this time.

In order to remove the potential impact upon the network, irc.seersirc.net now points to legend.de.eu.seersirc.net and temp.seersirc.net. We ask that everyone connecting to SeersIRC uses irc.seersirc.net instead of a specific server for the time being. This will ensure that the minimal amount of users are on servers that will be affected.

Hub and legend will be updated at a later date, we're aiming for a week or two after the first set of updates.

In other news, as you probably noticed, we upgraded services recently. This upgrade fixed many bugs, and allowed us to add 2 new modules which you'll be hearing about in a news post to come soon. Also as you may have noticed, some of the old !commands haven't been working. This is because we've decided to remove the bs_fantasy_ext module from services. All the previous commands you may be used to, can still be done. If you need any help at all learning how to do something that you used to use a !command for, stop by #help and we'll answer any questions you have.
